Facebook Data Leak ^NEW^ Download

In response to the Facebook data leak, the founder of data breach notification service, HaveIBeenPwned, has added the leaked data to help users identify if their information was part of the breach. Currently the uploaded data only includes email addresses, but HaveIBeenPwned is currently evaluating adding leaked phone numbers as well. Note that even if your email address was not associated with the breach but you have a phone number linked to your Facebook account, there is still a possibility that you were part of the leak.

Without visibility into social networks and the dark web, data breaches like the Facebook data leak would not have been identified. In order to protect against this new public attack surface, organizations must first implement protection and intelligence tools that analyze millions of data points across these platforms to quickly identify and remediate threats. ZeroFox offers organizations protection across all public platforms, giving you the protection, intelligence and disruption necessary to confidently address the growing public attack surface.

In early April, it was reported that there had been a Facebook data leak, raising alarms among Facebook account holders. Half a billion Facebook accounts were impacted. The dataset is from 2019, so it had been out there, but not widely circulated. Over the weekend, the data started popping up on popular hacking forums for free. The interesting story is where the data likely came from, what can be done with it, and what you can do to protect yourself.

Choose the categories of information that you want to download. By default, all categories are automatically selected. For the most comprehensive view of the data Facebook has on you, keep all categories selected.

Select the Date Range, Format, and Media Quality of the data you want to download. In the mobile app, unlike on desktop, these options are displayed vertically.

To check whether your data has leaked, and to prevent future leaks, use an identity theft protection tool such as Avast BreachGuard. BreachGuard can help you determine whether any of your personal information, like your Facebook password, has been exposed. BreachGuard constantly monitors the dark web to see if your personal info has leaked, and it will immediately notify you if it has.

According to samples reviewed by The Record today, the leaked data includes information that users posted on their profiles. Information leaked today includes Facebook ID numbers, profile names, email addresses, location information, gender details, job data, and anything else users might have entered in their profiles.

Search the internet for PDL's data leak. Download the leak. It should be a .7z (7zip) file of around 9+GB. (I seek your understanding in that I am not able to provide a guide as to how you can get this leak.)

Just this year (2021), a dataset involving 533 million users on Facebook leaked. Unlike the People Data Labs leak, this leak involves personal phone numbers rather than email addresses. However, in my quick analysis, 7% of the leaked profiles do have email addresses. So if you have the Facebook profile ID of your target, this method might work.

Search the internet for Facebook's data leak. The leaks are segregated by countries. Download the leak corresponding to the country of your target. It should be a .zip (zip) file. (I seek your understanding in that I am not able to provide a guide as to how you can get this leak.)

Over the last decade, Facebook has been involved in numerous damaging data breaches and scandals. Below is a recap of breaches through 2022, as well as steps you can take to mitigate the impact of future data leaks.

The first known Facebook security violation took place in December 2005 when researchers at MIT developed a script that could download publicly posted information. In this case, researchers were trying to prove that social media users were vulnerable to leaks because of their over-sharing of information online. This MIT group then gained personal data on over 70,000 users without getting their permission.

Furthermore, the company discovered that hackers had been in its system for years, meaning the data leak could have potentially impacted more than 200 of its clients and millions of mobile users around the world.

In May 2016, a search engine for hacked data and a hacker obtained over 400 million records from MySpace. Both parties claimed that they had obtained the data from a past, unreported data security incident. The leaked information contained emails, passwords, usernames, and second passwords. The hacker tried to sell the information for $2,800 or 6 Bitcoin on the dark web.

Summary: South Shore Hospital, a non-profit hospital in Chicago, Illinois, which treats patients receiving Medicaid or Medicare benefits, noticed suspicious activity on its IT network. It discovered that the protected health information of certain employees and patients was compromised. The leaked data includes first and last names, dates of birth, financial information, medical information, health insurance policy numbers, diagnoses, and Medicare and Medicaid information.

Summary: A misconfigured spambot leaked emails and passwords, leading to one of the biggest data breaches in recent years. Almost one email address for every person in Europe was leaked. The information became visible to the public because the spammers forgot to secure one of their servers. As a result, anyone could download the data without credentials.

Summary: Around 46.2 million mobile phone numbers from Malaysian mobile virtual network operators and telephone companies were posted online. The leak included prepaid and postpaid numbers, addresses, customer details, and SIM card information, including IMSI and IMEI numbers. Timestamps indicated that the leaked data was from May and July 2014. As with the other data leaks, the hackers tried to sell this information by posting it on a forum.

Summary: Hackers obtained the personal information of up to 13 million subscribers of Maple Story, a popular online game by Nexon Korea Corp. The leaked data included resident registration numbers, user IDs, names, and passwords.

A data breach occurs when a cybercriminal infiltrates a data source and extracts confidential information. This can be done by accessing a computer or network to steal local files or by bypassing network security remotely. While most data breaches are attributed to hacking or malware attacks, other breach methods include insider leaks, payment card fraud, loss or theft of a physical hard drive of files, and human error. The most common cyber attacks used in data breaches are outlined below.

Facebook recently suffered a very large-scale user data breach. As per Bloomberg, data of at least 533 million Facebook accounts was leaked on Saturday. Ironically, the private data of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was also leaked in that breach. This confidential information had become vulnerable back in January and hackers pounced on the huge leaked database. The leaked database of these 533 million people includes details like phone numbers, email IDs, photos and other details. Read on to know how you can check if your personal data has been breached in this leak or other leaks in the past.

It's also advisable to use a password manager to take care of all your passwords. A few good password manager services are 1password, LastPass or Keeper. These are paid services that automatically create and store incredibly complex passwords which are very hard to hack for their users. However, if your data has been already leaked, you will have to be really careful not to fall for scammers who might try to use your information for the wrong reasons.

The Facebook hack has exposed data of around 533 million members around the world. Data from people of as many as 106 countries have been leaked. Around 32 million records were leaked from the US, 11 million from the UK and about 6 million in India. The exposed information includes data such as user location, full names, birthdays, biodata, email ids and passwords and phone numbers.

When people upload their contact lists or address books to Facebook, we try to match that data with the contact information of other people on Facebook in order to generate friend recommendations. Because of the bug, the email addresses and phone numbers used to make friend recommendations and reduce the number of invitations we send were inadvertently stored in their account on Facebook, along with their uploaded contacts. As a result, if a person went to download an archive of their Facebook account through our Download Your Information (DYI) tool, which included their uploaded contacts, they may have been provided with additional email addresses or telephone numbers.

The data leak included phone numbers, full names, locations, email addresses, and biographical information of over 533 million Facebook users from 106 countries. US users made up the majority with over 32 million users impacted, with users in the UK and India representing the second- and third-most impacted regions.

In a blog post on Tuesday, Facebook product management director Mike Clark said it didn't disclose the breach because of the way that the leaked data was obtained. Rather than a hack, Facebook said the data was obtained, "by scraping it from our platform prior to September 2019."

High-flying and rapidly growing Chinese social media management company Socialarks has suffered a huge data leak leading to the exposure of over 400GB of personal data including several high-profile celebrities and social media influencers.

What was surprising, that the numbers of profiles affected in the data leak found by our team are the same as the numbers mentioned in the August data leak. However, there were big differences, such as size of a database, the companies hosting those servers and the amount of indices.
